10,000 Giveaway!

We're on our way to the Florida Keys right now, so I'm sure there will be lots of things to show you next week. In the meantime, I was absolutely blown away to discover that this blog has almost reached 10,000 hits!! WOW! Thank you!! It's fun to think that our little adventure is interesting enough for people to check out 10,000 times. In honor of this milestone we've decided to have a giveaway!

Here's how it works. In the comments section, answer one of the following questions:

1. What is your favorite thing we've done so far?
2. If we met you in person during our travels, where did we meet?
3. What is one new thing you learned from our adventure?

Please only post once. I know we'll love reading your responses. Next Friday I'll add all the names to a random name picker and choose the winner! Here's what you could win:

I'm so excited! Good luck and thank you!

- Jen

  1. My favorite adventure of yours thus far is definitely the Northern Lights. You guys have had an amazing journey...love reading about it!

  2. I enjoy all of your updates, but I think I loved the one where the kids tell us what they really felt, and the fact that you shared it honestly. Anyone who has raised children to adulthood knows how they usually become sullen and "over it" for almost everything. It is a treat to get a smile from them and to see beneath the "teen face" occasionally in the photos. Safe travels and enjoy the Keys. ~Cousin Sheila

    1. Ah yes. There are some pretty hilarious pictures with the "sullen teenager face". ;-) Fortunately we have just as many pictures of them having fun, so it balances out. They're about due for another update, actually. Maybe next week....

  6. I have loved every post! And as silly as it sounds, my favorite was the "pinion" joke - my dad told us that all the time as kids, he still tells it, different versions but he always ends with "the difference if a-pinion!" I learned that jealousy comes in a little black "container" called a Featherweight! Have fun in the Keys, be sure to come back!!!

    1. Haha! You and your dad have a sense of humor after my own heart, Nan. We were meant to be friends! When I get home you can come over and see if you need one. Just don't explode on me when I convince you to buy another machine... ;-)

  7. I love it all! I love seeing all the stops you make...especially the ones that I have done myself on the many road trips my parents took us on when we were kids! My ultimate favorites were from AZ and my youth!

  8. I love how the kids are checking out scouting in so many areas of the country. Even participating with units service projects! I trust they are really a part of nation and world wide organizations!!! I also love the plant sun prints (I forget the name) you are doing along the way. Looking forward to seeing them all together in something when you are home! Thanks for allowing us to join you on your journey!

    1. That is fun for me too! Plus, it forces them to get out of their comfort zone and meet new people. We're not all that different, no matter where we are! Thank YOU for following!

  9. I enjoy all your updates but so far I think Alaska has been my favorite stop of all. Maybe because I really want to visit Alaska ;) But honestly I love living vicariously through you on this awesome adventure!

    1. Thank you, Sammy-poo! After your current adventure, I know you'll get there! Can't wait to see pics of NY! Be sure to scope out great places for us. We'll be there around June.

  10. Kate here, but my computer is forcing me to use my husband's profile. My favorite things from your blog have been a tie between the Northern Lights and Antelope Canyon. We didn't meet during your family travels, but we have met in person twice on opposite sides of the country: first at a weekend retreat in Washington state and then at Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. Lastly, I learned the difference between a caribou and reindeer from your blog!
